A Watson Family Update!

Hi friends and family!

We are so excited to announce that we will be moving to London, England to join in with what God is calling us to. He has called us to partner with Commission Global to train church leaders. We will also be planting a church out of a historic church in downtown London within the next two years. Our vision is that this church plant will be a multicultural training ground that will send church planters from the nations living in London to reach the unreached nations of the world!

Along with that, Adam will be continuing his doctoral studies from Dallas Theological Seminary!

We are so grateful for how God has been with us every step of the way in this process of moving to London.

Can we share just a few of the amazing ways God has confirmed this calling?

• If we look back at the past year, God has completely surprised us with London. London wasn't even on our radar a year ago as we were processing where God wanted us to go next. We knew that our time in Austin was coming to an end and we were hopeful to take steps in a new healthy direction, but we thought God would be sending us to North West Africa or to the Middle East. We actually took a vision trip this past summer to both of those places but God showed us through relationships and His Spirit that He was inviting us to serve Him in London to be a hub to send from the nations to the nations.

• Over the last year, Adam has been processing if he was called to be a "pastor" or a "missionary" longterm and God answered that he is both. We even went to interview with a church in England this past December and was offered the Lead Pastor role but God was calling us specifically to the city of London. Through that process, we visited a church in downtown London seeking wisdom from pastors and leaders. We ended up having a conversation with the Global Director of Commission and through that conversation we knew the Holy Spirit was present and speaking. One of the main things he said was that "they wanted to release us to what God was calling us to" and that "we had their heart." We learned that they had been praying for church planters in London and this felt like a very specific personal confirmation from God to join in with Commission and to not only plant in London but to be a part of a hub to send to the nations. Through much prayer and conversation we have decided to partner with Commission!

• While we were in London seeking God's direction, we jokingly asked God to make it snow if we were supposed to move to London and church plant. There was no snow on the radar that week and the next day, it snowed 6 inches and even shut down parts of the underground! Our pastor friend Paul joked with us and said "I wont stand next to you if you don't come here, mate, because you will be struck by lightning!"

• I (Laura) served at our friend Paul's church 9 years ago and I never in my wildest dreams would have imagined coming back to London to live and do ministry. It is so sweet of God to bring us back to a place that is so close to my heart and personal story and a place that God sparked my desire to see the nations reached.

There are so many more conversations and moments where God has confirmed this calling to London. We are overwhelmed by God's faithfulness and His sovereignty in these next steps and His big picture for our lives! We will be posting ministry updates, family updates and stories of how Jesus is moving and transforming lives on this blog and we would LOVE if you followed along!
