January 2024 Ministry Recap

Updated: Apr 9

Thank you for praying with us as we launch into 2024! So many new things in the works. Here are some links to trainings and events from January.

Jan. 14th

Each month Adam preaches at Victoria Park Baptist Church as part of a church revitalization with our good friend Paul Unsworth. This sermon focused on the need of the gospel to shape the city. We pray every church would be gospel-centered across London.

The London Briefing - Share Jesus International

The London briefing was unifying event for churches and ministry leaders across London to gather and pray together. We heard updates from various ministries that were represented. One of our biggest prayers for the church in London is unity. We need more days like the briefing where ministries and churches can be encouraged to hear what God is continuing to do in the city. Andy Frost did a great job leading the way and helping pray into what God might do in London over the next 10 years. Pray for unity and collaboration.

OPEN DOORS UK - PRAYING FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH IN PARLIAMENT

I was honored to be in the room to pray for the worldwide persecuted church at Portcullis House in Parliament in Westminster, London January 17th, 2024. This year the Open Doors UK World Watch List 2024  was announced with over 130 Members of Parliament present. Christian and non-christian MP's alike listened to the list of the countries and sobering statistics of global persecution. However, it was the testimonies of believers from Nigeria and Iran that shook everyone in the room to their core. Hearing life stories from people who have lost family members, been beaten, repeatedly threaten, and robbed for their faith in Jesus. These powerful in-person testimonies also came with a call to action. A call from these believers to MP's to use their voice for those in persecution who do not have voice.

This was a day where I had to ask God how did I get here? A young American church planter from Texas invited by Guy Miller to Parliament to pray with over 130 members of parliament for the persecuted church. Our family came to London with a vision to send from the nations living in London to the nations. A dream to plant a church and send long-term missionaries. In the kindness of God we can see that the desire to serve His mission globally far surpasses what we could imagine. We are learning daily how to pray for the bride of Christ in a new ways across the globe. Would you join us in this prayer?

HOW CAN WE PRAY?

  • Praise God that the parliamentary launch was well attended and received by MPs and others present

  • Pray that the speeches and report will linger with MPs, provoking them to urgent, decisive and lasting action on behalf of persecuted Christians worldwide

  • Pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to help Fiona Bruce MP in her role as Prime Minister’s Special Envoy on Freedom of Religion or Belief.

  • Pray for church leaders in the UK to unify in the gospel to reach the nations and serve the persecuted church globally.

It was a treat to host and teach alongside Segun with our level 2 training. Segun co-leads the London Hub, pastors The Kings Church Epsom and is powerhouse of preacher. His joy and humility blessed our students as they were taught on preaching and teaching. Each student has an opportunity to teach and get feedback as a part of our training as well.

Jan. 21st

Mark Waterfield and his family are a huge gift to East London. Mark leads Hope Church Newham and we also co-lead the London Hub for Commission together. He is a passionate evangelist and bold preacher for Jesus. They rooted near Stratford Station one of the least reached areas with gospel in London. Pray for their ministry efforts and for continued favor in the community to proclaim the gospel.

Jan. 23rd

The Commission interns meet regularly at the Ascot Life Center. While the interns serve at various churches across Commission they come together train, worship, and study the word together. I was grateful to teach a training day with them helping them discern their calling and spiritual gifts. Pray for these interns as they take next steps in ministry.

This was a blast! We absolutely loved being with The Kings Church Epsom and our dear friend Segun's family. They have a fantastic community of believers and are seeing God move amongst their young adults ministry specifically. Pray that God would bless their church to flourish in the coming months and years. We are praying with them to see church planters raised up and missionaries sent out. Lucy absolutely loved their church and home and did not want to leave! We affectionately call Segun, Uncle Segun. Lucy calls this the dancing church for good reason :)
